Gina is passionate about developing and supporting school systems where all students are nourished and thriving. Most recently, as Chief Program Officer at BES, Gina led the programmatic and operational work to transition to an equity and excellence centered set of programs for pre-opening and open charter schools. Prior to BES, Gina consulted for the Leveraged Leadership Institute as a coach and facilitator for school system and district leaders in the US and UK. She led the Accelerate National Hybrid Learning Community of Practice, to provide support, resources and community to urban and rural EDs, CEOs, CAOs and school leaders throughout the return to school following the first wave of the pandemic. As a regional superintendent of schools for Achievement First, she managed regional superintendents, principals, and academic teams across 3 states. Closest to her heart is the time she spent as founding principal of AF Brownsville Elementary, in Brooklyn, NY, where her family roots are. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was an Urban Scholars Fellow, and a BA from the University of Delaware. When Gina is not working, she’s hiking, kayaking, planning a trip to a new city, and spending time with family.
