Dr. Cicely Horsham-Brathwaite has over twenty years experience working in the higher education sector. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and mental health as a liberation strategy for marginalized groups. Dr. Horsham-Brathwaite has a proven track record of transforming collegiate mental health agencies to increase capacity for serving students of color, LGBTQ students, low income, and first-generation students. Prior to joining TMC, she led the counseling center at one of the largest colleges in the City University of New York (CUNY) system where she led her team to enhance programming, engage stakeholders, and reduce the stigma associated with utilizing mental health services for its 26,000 students. She is a former university professor who taught counselors in training how to practice mental health and career counseling from a culturally competent perspective. Cicely holds a B.A. in psychology from Lehigh University, M.S.Ed. in counseling and personnel services from Fordham University, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. Cicely lives in New York with her husband and is passionate about spending time with family and friends and volunteering in community-led advocacy initiatives.
