Felicia Thomas believes in creating work environments that welcome and affirm the whole person, where people can thrive and excel. Prior to joining The Management Center, Felicia served as Co-Executive Director at the Detroit Justice Center (DJC), a nonprofit law firm working alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities.
A member of DJC’s senior leadership team, Felicia oversaw the establishment of DJC’s Organizational Strengthening Committee, their Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (JEDI + B) policy, and developed innovative programs and policies to uplift wellness, healing, and work-life balance.
Prior to DJC, Felicia served as the director of diversity and inclusion at Bodman PLC and the assistant dean of student affairs and director of diversity initiatives at Wayne State University Law School, where she chaired the Law School’s Diversity Task Force and Diversity Committee. She also launched a K-12 pipeline program with the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) and served as an adjunct instructor for Teaching Law in High School, an upper-level course where law students taught legal concepts to DPSCD high school students.
A native Detroiter, Felicia earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. in African/African American Studies & English from the University of Michigan. She’s a proud mom to three teenagers who love family game nights (Taboo and Phase 10 are favorites) and when she is not working, she’s either weightlifting, reading, or spending quality time with family and friends.
