Melinda has spent the majority of her career working to improve educational opportunities for underserved students across the country. She began her career running tutoring centers in Atlanta and has served in leadership roles at Chicago Public Schools and The Achievement Network (ANet). Melinda briefly left the education sector to earn an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management and to work as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. For the last ten years, Melinda has been marrying her professional passions for organizational management and educational equity, most recently as the Chief Talent and Equity Officer at ANet. At ANet, her team implemented an aggressive anti-racism learning agenda and anti-racist organizational policies to transform the experiences of staff of color and improve programmatic offerings for students of color. Melinda is currently launching a business to provide adventure travel services for women of color.
