Katie is a queer and transgender educator, lifetime learner, writer, nerd, and activist dedicated to social justice. He has co-authored two books on gender expansiveness in early childhood education as a member of the Gender Justice in Early Childhood team. Katie has a B.S. in Outdoor Education from the University of New Hampshire and spent the early part of her career working on ropes courses and taking kids rock climbing, backpacking, and whitewater canoeing. He earned his MBA from Mills College in Oakland, CA where he began his journey in nonprofit accounting and finance. She is passionate about using the power of math for good – supporting nonprofits in aligning their values ($$) with their values and using financial reporting to be more effective and efficient at achieving their mission. Outside work, Katie is often playing with his pitbull Loki, enjoying the New England woods, or playing music with his partner and other queer and trans musicians.
