| Managing to Change the World |
|
We developed this 4-month course, and the book it’s based on, to make it easier for you to put strong management practices in place. The course is designed for mid- and senior-level managers, with past participants ranging from department heads to executive directors, and from new managers to those with years of experience wanting to sharpen their skills. Through the program, you’ll learn how to:
- Delegate tasks effectively
- Use goals to hand off broad responsibilities
- Build a culture of excellence on your team
- Check in with your staff efficiently
- Stay organized and use your time wisely
- Hire great people
- Give feedback and develop your staff
- Retain your best performers, and coach out your worst
- Work productively with your own manager, and
- Assert your authority while being a decent, normal person!
The program consists of:
- 5 Friday-morning sessions with a cohort of no more than 16 managers from nonprofit organizations
- Small group learning between sessions with members of your cohort
- “Office hours” with Management Center staff for advice and coaching
